“From an art-historical POV, the project acknowledges the multiplicity of a fluctuating contemporary condition, especially in Vietnam, where there exists no contemporary art museum. Responding to the birth of The Outpost, the project accentuates its mission of sketching a united portrait for Vietnamese contemporary art. This unity is disjunctive—a characteristic of contemporary art proposed by Peter Osborne—because the invisible wanderers of  ‘The Contemporary’ never stop; their trails weave the exhibition into a network, speculate other possibilities of the exhibition itself, and act as its own critique. Altogether, these processes suggest how any meaning of our contemporaneity, in the instantiation of being composed and decomposed, can only be revealed through its contingency and in our active participation.”
