Fractured Times is the opening exhibition of the art organization The Outpost Art Organization. Excerpt from the exhibition introduction text from The Outpost:

“The first time appearing before the public and the art community, The Outpost cannot help but perceive  and position itself against the backdrop of the times… Introducing the works of six artists – Hoang Thanh Vinh Phong, Phan Thao Nguyen , Ly Tran Quynh Giang, Nguyen Phuong Linh, Pham Ha Ninh and Pham Minh Hieu – Fractured Times does not imply generalizing any ‘typical’ or glorifying any specific flow. Because, reducing Vietnamese art to a single, consistent and seamless narrative is unreasonable and impossible.

Instead, the exhibition is The Outpost’s first greeting on a journey with the art community and audiences to explore and discover different integrants of a panorama.”

The Contemporary (at The Outpost, 2022) was commissioned specifically for Fractured Times. It is a total installation using soundscape techniques to emit the sounds of invisible beings (vagabonds) wandering the exhibition site. The artwork is a reflection on the concept of ‘contemporary’, the other artworks within the exhibition and on the inauguration of The Outpost, a new art organization, amidst the context of Vietnam’s contemporary art.
