“We, as humans, have always had an obsession with time.”

—Phạm Minh Hiếu, 2014

Here & Now contemplates time and the concept of  ‘the present.’ Incidentally, the exhibition follows the footsteps of Russian–American artist Ilya Kabakov in the practice of “total installation” through building three immersive exhibition rooms, inviting viewers on a journey in two dimensions simultaneously: aesthetic (physical) and conceptual (mental). In the aesthetic dimension, it is a journey of intuition when the audience goes through each room, interfacing and interacting with the artwork. In the conceptual dimension, it is a journey to escape from the external dimension (which seems multi-dimensional, fluctuating and chaotic) to enter the internal dimension (which seems uniform, immutable and tranquil). Eventually, the present opens up, embracing the viewer.
